The 18th COMS conference will be organized by MANCEF at the University of Twente in Enschede (The Netherlands), on August 25-28, 2013. On this event, Mr. Kees Revenberg, Managing Director of MASER Engineering, will give a presentation entitled “The role of an independent service provider as shared facility center in the electronic and MEMS world”. This presentation is part of the session on “The investment process from a company’s point of view”, which will be held in room Waaier 1 on Monday August 26th, at 13:30-15:30.

The complexity of electronic and MEMS devices require focus through the whole supply chain. The product inventor and owner has to use all its skills, knowhow and financial power to get an attractive product on the market. Complex device manufacturing and assembly can be handled by large industry service providers. In some cases, dedicated manufacturing processes are part of the total product cycle. MASER Engineering is an independent service provider offering advanced equipment sharing. The complete chain of tools for process and product validation, material characterization and Failure Analysis can be accessed on demand, including the necessary operator skills at engineering level. This presentation will also highlight the investment issues of the expensive toolset for an ISP.
