Product of the Year category at NMI Awards

19 November 2016

XAAR’s Monarch chip has been won the prestigious Product of the Year category at the 2016 NMI Awards, held on November 17, 2016. The product of the Year award is sponsored by MASER Engineering.

The awards celebrate the year’s key electronics innovations, people and companies from across the UK and Ireland. It has been run as an annual event since 2001.

In today’s intensely competitive markets for electronics products, it is absolutely  essential that new products enable exciting capabilities within a tight window of market opportunity while meeting exceptionally high quality and reliability standards. The award therefore recognises the development of a product delivering the highest levels of customer satisfaction, quality and reliability through clear demonstration of best practice in product creation and qualification.

In presenting the award, NMI CEO Derek Boyd said: “Xaar achieved new product launch in record time by a combination of cross- functional teamwork and an extremely well-structured and well-managed product development plan. “The product was launched at the main print-head tradefair in 2016 and the plant is now ramping-up production. As an independent British company developing and innovating products and innovating how it works based on the capability of its people, the Xaar 2001 and 2001+ print-heads are worthy winners of the NMI Product of the Year.”

The awards were held at a prestigious venue in London’s Bankside. The Awards and Gala Dinner, which saw the electronics systems trade body’s 20th anniversary celebrations, was also attended by the Rt Hon Matt Hancock MP, the Minister of State responsible for digital policy.
