The NMI Awards 2016: Product of the Year Award

20 July 2016

The NMI Awards showcase the best of the best in today's electronic systems industry and are open to anyone part of the community in the UK and Ireland - you do not need to be an NMI member to apply for an award. The Awards categories present the perfect opportunity to highlight your success and achievements over the past 12 months and the deadline is September 30, 2016. Winners will be presented with their awards by sponsors in the afternoon of the 17th of November at the Hilton Hotel Bankside, London. The NMI Gala Dinner will follow the Awards Ceremony and the celebrations are set to be bigger and better than ever as NMI celebrates its 20th Anniversary.

Already for several years MASER Engineering is the sponsor of the Product of the Year Award:

In today’s intensely competitive markets for electronics products, it is absolutely essential that new products enable exciting capabilities within a tight window of market opportunity while meeting exceptionally high quality and reliability standards.  This Award recognises new and innovative thinking and demonstrable success in:

  1. Understanding the quality and reliability requirements of a given market sector
  2. Translating these requirements into a Product Qualification Plan
  3. Liaison with internal and external (where applicable) business functions and service providers
  4. Delivery of the product to the market to the expected quality levels including a plan to tackle yield, quality or reliability issues.

The Award will therefore recognise the development of a product delivering the highest levels of customer satisfaction, quality and reliability through clear demonstration of best practice in product creation and qualification.

Supportive information should illustrate the following key points:

  1. Defined approach to understanding the market requirements
  2. Evidence of integration of quality & reliability into the product development cycle
  3. Evidence of effective cross-functional team-work – where applicable including the customer, external partners etc.
  4. Evidence of outstanding performance and reliability

Open to any electronics systems company which is based in and/or operates from UK/Ireland.

Who can Apply?

A significant proportion, or all, of the design work must have been carried out in the UK/Ireland.
The winner is expected to feature strongly in all of the above areas.
