ESD Standardization Activties at MASER

Since 2005, Mr. Marcel Dekker (Sr. Reliability Test Engineer at MASER Engineering B.V.) is member of Standard Workgroup 5 of the ESD Association (ESDA). This workgroup deals with standards for ESD (Electro Static Discharge) testing of devices using the Human Body Model (HBM), Machine Model (MM), Charged Device Model (CDM), Charged Body Event (CBE), Transient Latch-Up (TLU), Transmission Line Pulse (TLP) and Human Metal Model (HMM).

In the overview below you can find the ESD standards to which MASER Engineering contributed, with Mr. Marcel Dekker being a member of the Joint HBM subcommittee and MM subcommittee.

 

ANSI/ESDA/JEDEC JS-001-2012

Human Body Model (HBM) - Component Level

ANSI/ESDA/JEDEC JS-001-2012 ESDA/JEDEC Joint Standard for Electrostatic Discharge Sensitivity Testing - Human Body Model (HBM) - Component Level.

This standard is a revision of ANSI/ESDA/JEDEC JS-001-2011. It establishes the procedure for testing, evaluating, and classifying the electrostatic discharge sensitivity of components to the defined human body model (HBM).
At the time ANSI/ESDA/JEDEC JS-001-2012 was prepared, the Joint HBM Subcommittee had amongst others Marcel Dekker (Sr. Reliability Test Engineer at MASER Engineering) as member.

ESDA/JEDEC JTR001-01-12

Human Body Model (HBM) - Component Level

ESDA/JEDEC JTR001-01-12, ESDA/JEDEC Joint Technical Report User Guide of ANSI/ESDA/JEDEC JS-001 Human Body Model Testing of Integrated Circuits.

This technical report describes the technical changes made in ANSI/ESDA/JEDEC JS-001-2011 (contained in the new 2012 version) and explains how to use those changes to apply HBM (Human Body Model) tests to IC components.
At the time ESD JTR001-01-12 was prepared, the Joint HBM Subcommittee had amongst others Marcel Dekker (Sr. Reliability Test Engineer at MASER Engineering) as member.

ANSI/ESD S5.2-2009

Machine Model (MM) - Component Level

ANSI/ESD S5.2-2009 ESD Association Standard hor Electrostatic Discharge Sensitivity Testing – Machine Model (MM) – Component Level.

This standard is a revision and re-designation of ANSI/ESD STM5.2-1999. It establishes the procedure for testing, evaluating, and classifying the ESD sensitivity of components to the defined MM.
At the time ANSI/ESD S5.2-2009 was prepared, the 5.2 Device Testing (MM) Subcommittee had amongst others Marcel Dekker (Sr. Reliability Test Engineer at MASER Engineering) as member.
